Participants Needed for the study phase of a new Education Resource for ED Parent Caregivers
Ethics: This research project has been approved by the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Ethics Board.
The Children's Hospital of Eastern Onterio is excited to announce the launch of a new online educational website for parents or caregivers of youth who may be suffering from an eating disorder.
A brief description of the study is outlined below. Please pass this information along to any families you feel might benefit from this information.

Purpose of the research:
To understand if the online educational tool (www.canped.ca) is helpful to parents/caregivers of a child who may have an eating disorder.
Who can participate:
Parents or caregivers of a youth (9-18 years old) who may have an eating disorder.
This website PROVIDES educational videos on the following topics:
What is an eating disorder?
Understanding the medical risks associated with eating disorders
Understanding what eating disorders are about
Treatment options for youth with eating disorders
Supporting your loved one - highs and lows
Meal support (before, during, and after meals)
Practical tips and tricks for parents and caregivers of youth with an eating disorder
This website DOES NOT PROVIDE the following:
Specific advice tailored to your child or family
Communication with professionals
Real-time medical or psychological support
Information about eating disorders in adults
